Description

This was three pages of sketches that I colored and made into one. I didn't properly sketch out the bottom picture, so I lost patience trying to get their legs/torsos to look right, more focused on their faces and his injuries.

Joscelin is an angel boy, Cedric is a fire dragon who posses no fire abilities.

Top picture is profile head shots, the middle were lovey-dovey sketches, and the bottom is Joscelin welcoming Cedric home from a trial for his life (all described below).

I am planning to bring Cedric, Drakin, and Noedana into a different RP game, soon, so I wanted a color sheet of Cedric (and Joscelin, even though he's not mine).

Joscelin belongs to Kelsey
Cedric belongs to me

For Those Who Care About These Characters:

The dragons of this world are purists, feeling any offsprings with abnormalities should be killed, and there should never be a mixing of elements (interracial dragon offspring = a big no-no).

Cedric was born without the spark of fire inside. Cedric's parents loved him more than their people's views, and kept him alive by going into hiding. They taught him fighting and self defense, knowing one day he'd have to defend himself against his own people. The ruler of the fire dragons was made aware of Cedric surviving, but saw no harm in letting him live, despite the cries of his people.

Noedana, half fire dragon and half water dragon, is the bastard child of the fire lord dragon. The ruler had many pure-fire daughters and sons, but Noedana was a reminder of his disloyalty to stay pure. With Noedana's mother mysteriously dying, Noedana's oldest fire-brother (and next in line), Drakin, took her into his care when she was still a young child. Her form being much like her sea-dragon mother, she is much like a water dragon, having visual hints of fire dragon running in her blood. She should be destroyed, according to the purists, for defying nature itself, as well as being a threat to take over the fire dragons as their next lord. A non-pure dragon to rule them would be unthinkable! Drakin, wanting his people to start accepting change and diversity, keeps Noedana safe, but still plays favors to his father to keep his succession.

Because Cedric was seen as deformed, and Noedana being more of a thorn in his side than a daughter needing her father, the ruler of the fire dragons felt it would be fitting the two be betrothed. Noedana and Cedric agree to the betrothal, but they see it more as an agreement to fight together against those wishing to destroy them, having more of a sibling relationship instead of a romantic one.

Noedana's heavily tomboyish charm attracts a young prince of a hawk tribe, Caden, a people that welcomed diversity and strength.

Cedric remained a loyal friend to Noedana as her feelings grew for the jealous Caden. One day, however, Cedric found himself protecting a young boy, Joscelin, from being physically beaten by his destructive cousin, Leon. Later the cousins reconciled, but Cedric never trusted Leon alone with Joscelin, even as Leon began changing himself for the better. Due to Cedric's protective nature for Joscelin, he began spending more time with him, discovering both cousins were angels. Leon, personally struggling to not become a fallen angel, against the dark blood that flowed in him.

With Cedric and Noedana now finding happiness with other people, the purist dragons' attacks on them, and threats to their fire dragon lord, begin rising. The pair of misfits know they need to prove themselves, and openly challenge a fight of them against the fire dragon lord. Joscelin is supportive of Cedric's decision, agreeing to wait for his safe return home. Caden, however, argues vehemently against it, and though he finally gives in to Noedana, he demands he is there to witness this trial.

People fear this trial may lead to their leader's death and Noedana's succession to rule, this trial being public to all of the fire dragons. As Cedric and Noedana fight for their lives against their ruler, Noedana's inner fire sparks to life. This sudden development distracts everyone, including the fire lord. The pair work together to pin their lord into a checkmate position. They show everyone that if they wanted to kill the lord and take over, they could have, but they simply wished to live their lives, away from the fire dragons, in peace. The fire dragon lord grants them peace, declaring before all they have proven themselves.

Noedana and Cedric leave with new scars (and I'm still debating if Cedric loses his right eye), but each return home to their loved ones. With this being a major victory, the misfit pair confronts Drakin, wanting to build the future he sees for their people. Especially with Noedana being living proof that pure elements can mix for the better.

Kelsey and I discussed Cedric losing his eye from the trial. Despite Kelsey LOVING dark and emotional stories, she didn't want him to lose his eye. Haha, I usually am kinder to my own characters. So we chatted about the idea of Joscelin using his angelic ability to repair his sight, more reference to the bottom image, though over all it's suppose to show how loving and confident Joscelin was of Cedric returning to him.
